Why I write
Life rarely teaches us the lesson before the mistake.
Sometimes life teaches you by taking something away. A job. A relationship. Money. An opportunity. Sometimes your pride.
At the time, none of it feels like a story.
It just feels like life.
Wiser at 40 is a collection of true stories drawn from my own experiences. Every story happened. Some are funny. Some are painful. Some still make me cringe. A few almost ended very differently.
I don't write because I have all the answers.
I write because I've lived through enough wrong turns to know that we're often far more alike than we think.
